Description

What is Treclin Gel?

Treclin Gel is a dual-action prescription medication used for the treatment of moderate acne. It combines two active ingredients: Clindamycin, an antibiotic that reduces bacteria on the skin, and Tretinoin, a retinoid that helps prevent clogged pores and normalises skin shedding. Together, these ingredients target the root causes of acne, including bacterial infection, inflammation, and blocked pores, making Treclin effective at treating common acne lesions such as blackheads, whiteheads, and inflamed spots. It comes in 30g tubes and is a translucent yellow gel. The drug must be prescribed before use.

How does it work?

Clindamycin helps control the acne-causing bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, reducing the inflammation that leads to red and swollen acne lesions. Tretinoin works by speeding up the skin’s natural cell turnover process, promoting the shedding of old skin cells and preventing the build-up of dead cells that clog pores. By tackling both bacterial infection and blocked pores, Treclin Gel treats existing acne and helps prevent future breakouts
